I'm All Mixed Up

Mélange is a 2017 OTTB mare. She stands around 16hh and has a stunning dark bay coat. She raced in Louisiana until age 7 and retired sound. I purchased her in April 2025 after she had a full year of let down time. Melange is a sweet, loving mare. She loves people and gets along with other horses. She is willing and a good learner. She has a rhythmic canter with an upbeat trot. 

 

Melange has not been ridden yet but she carries a saddle without issue, jumps, lunges, and has all the ground manners. She will be started under saddle in the coming weeks. She came to us with thin hooves, which led to a bone infection. Surgery was performed successfully in September, 2025 and she has since made a full recovery. Her hoof issues have been managed with shoes and supplements to encourage hoof growth. I have her hoof X-rays on file, which will be available to buyers. She has a cataract in her left eye but it does not cause any issues. It has been present since birth and she has no major vision impairments. Her only maintenance requirements are front shoes. 

 

With her stunning gaits and confidence, Mélange is expected to excel in a myriad of english disciplines and could even learn western with the right rider. 

Mélange will be posted for sale after she is trained under saddle.
