I'm All Mixed Up

Mélange is a 2017 OTTB mare. She stands around 16hh and has a stunning dark bay coat. She raced in Louisiana until age 7 and retired sound. I purchased her in April 2025 after she had a full year of let down time. Melange is a sweet, loving mare. She loves people and gets along with other horses. She is willing and a good learner. She has a beautiful canter with a smooth trot. 

 

Melange has not been restarted yet but she is sound and will be started under saddle in the coming weeks. She came to us with poor hooves, which resulted in a bone infection. Surgery was performed successfully in September 2025 and she has since made a full recovery. Her hoof issues have been managed with shoes and supplements to encourage hoof growth. Clean hoof X-rays on file. She has a cataract in her left eye but it does not cause any issues. It has been present since birth and does not cause major vision impairments. Her only maintenance requirements are two front shoes and daily hoof supplements. 

 

With her stunning gaits and confidence, Mélange is expected to excel in a myriad of english disciplines and could even learn western with the right rider. She has done small jumps in the past with no issues and has the confidence for a career in eventing.

Melange will be posted for sale after she is trained under saddle.
